Cloud backup
Backing up data to a cloud provider rather than to local hardware.
It removes the capital cost and the offsite logistics, scales without planning, and puts the copy somewhere a site disaster cannot reach.
The trade-offs are restore speed over your internet connection and egress charges on some platforms. For large restores, a hybrid with a local copy for speed and cloud for resilience usually wins.
