Managed IT services in Gilbert cost $166, $241, or $271 per user per month with Desert Lakes Solutions, depending on how much security sits on top of everyday support. The Microsoft 365 license is inside each figure, the floor is $1,400 a month, and critical issues get a 15-minute standard response at any hour. We post the numbers so you can decide whether we fit before anyone books a call.
If your office has outgrown the person who used to handle the computers, this page is for you.
Below: what a plan includes, what it costs with the arithmetic shown, the first 90 days, and a checklist for choosing an IT company. Jump to the checklist or the cost section.
What do managed IT services in Gilbert include?
Managed IT is a standing monthly arrangement: one company owns your technology day to day, and you stop paying per incident. Picture an office with a couple of suites near the Heritage District, a dozen people, and nobody in charge of the computers. A plan gives that office one number to call for help, overnight patching, an administrator for its Microsoft 365 tenant (the company account behind email, files, and logins), and backups that get restored on a schedule to prove they work. The servers, firewall, switches, and Wi-Fi are looked after too, inside the per-user price.
New to the model? Our guide to what a managed service provider is covers the vocabulary, and the managed IT overview has the full catalog.
What do managed IT services cost in Gilbert?
Three fixed bundles, priced per user per month on the assumption of one computer per person:
- Trailhead, $166 per user per month. Essential IT. Help desk from 7am to 7pm on weekdays, endpoint protection, patching, workstation backup, and offsite file backup for servers. Microsoft 365 Business Premium is in the price, and so is management of your server and network gear.
- Ridgeline, $241 per user per month. Business Security. Trailhead plus a help desk staffed 24 hours every day, managed detection and response, an onsite backup appliance, security awareness training, and identity and access management. Most of the offices we take on land here.
- Summit, $271 per user per month. Full-Stack IT. Ridgeline plus Microsoft 365 E5, a 24/7 security operations center, cloud security monitoring, and virtual CIO advisory (the technology planning role larger companies hire for) up to 6 hours a month.
On-site time is part of every plan, up to 3 hours per visit: 1 visits a month on Trailhead, 3 on Ridgeline, 5 on Summit. Visits do not roll over, and time beyond them is quoted. Think of them as the part of the price that covers the trip from Phoenix.
Small offices should read the floor before the per-user rate. The minimum is $1,400 a month, and on the entry bundle it stops mattering once you reach 9 users. Larger offices get the reverse: a discount on the managed monthly, 4 percent from 25 users and 10 percent from 100, stepping up from there, with a custom agreement above 300 users. The full schedule and a calculator are on the pricing page.
Example one: two suites. Say a 12-person office on Ridgeline keeps most of its staff in Gilbert and puts a few people in a second suite in Chandler. The bill is 12 users at $241, or $2,892 a month. The second location does not change the per-user math, and neither does the server, firewall, and switches at either address, since managing them is already in the price.
Example two: crossing 25 users. Take 30 people on Trailhead. At $166 each the gross is $4,980. Because the office is past 25 users, the 4 percent discount applies and removes $199.20, so the bill is $4,780.80, which is $159.36 per user.
Not in the monthly figure: discovery and onboarding work, which depends on what the audit turns up and is quoted separately; hardware; and projects like a cloud migration or an office move. Optional or per-event charges are 24-hour SIEM monitoring at $130 per server, $100 per firewall, $50 per switch, and $35 per access point each month, plus $150 to onboard an employee and $75 to offboard one. To see how this sits against the market, read managed IT cost per user per month, or use the IT cost calculator.
IT support in Gilbert: what is covered, line by line
Ten things a plan covers.
- Help desk for the whole team, with a 15-minute standard response on critical issues at any hour (staffed 7am to 7pm on weekdays on Trailhead, and 24 hours every day on Ridgeline and Summit)
- Engineers who drive to Gilbert when a job needs hands on the hardware
- Microsoft 365 administration (the license is included in the per-user price)
- Endpoint protection and patching (keeping software updated) on every workstation
- Managed detection and response, a staffed team watching your computers around the clock (included on Ridgeline and Summit, or $30 per workstation per month added to Trailhead)
- Server, firewall, switch, and wireless management (included in every bundle, not billed per device)
- Backups verified by restoring them, not just scheduled and forgotten (Ridgeline and Summit add an onsite appliance, which is the difference between recovering a server in hours and recovering it over the internet)
- Employee onboarding and offboarding done the same documented way every time (charged per person when someone starts or leaves: onboarding $150, offboarding $75)
- The monitoring, access control, and documentation that HIPAA, PCI DSS (card payments), CMMC (defense contracts), and SOC 2 evidence is built from (the access control and around-the-clock monitoring pieces start on Ridgeline; framework readiness is scoped and quoted after a gap assessment)
- A written technology plan and budget, so a hardware refresh is planned instead of an emergency (virtual CIO advisory, on Summit)
Outsourced IT in Gilbert: why companies make the move
Outsourced IT in Gilbert is rarely a first choice. It is usually what happens after one of these four things.
-
The bill keeps growing
Every month brings a line item nobody can explain, from a vendor who bills by the hour and has no reason to prevent the next problem.
-
Tickets wait for days
A request goes in on Monday and someone looks at it Thursday. A help desk that answers critical issues in 15 minutes, at any hour, changes how the office feels about IT.
-
Nobody has looked in years
The server closet, the firewall, the Microsoft 365 settings: set up once and left. Our first weeks are an inventory, because you cannot look after what nobody has written down.
-
The person who handled IT is gone
A nephew, an office manager who was good with computers, a one-person shop that retired. What they knew left with them, and passwords and renewals are the first things that surface.
On-site IT support in Gilbert, from an office in Phoenix
Our office is in Phoenix, on Central Avenue. Gilbert is on the far side of the Valley from there, and getting out to it means the freeways and, at rush hour, a real wait. We would rather you hear that from us than discover it the first time something breaks.
What that means in practice is that the work is built around not needing the drive. Monitoring flags a failing drive or a stalled backup before anyone at your front desk notices, patching runs overnight, and most tickets from a Gilbert office are fixed remotely in the time it would take to find parking. Remote diagnosis first also means a trip usually happens once, with the right part.
Some jobs still need a person: a dead switch, a server that will not start, a new suite that needs cabling, a network cutover. For those, an engineer drives to Gilbert, and the monthly on-site visits in each plan are there for exactly that. If you want a drive time to your address before you decide, ask and we will give you the real one.
Arizona breach-notification rules and what Valley heat does to a server closet are covered in detail on our Phoenix managed IT page, and the same advice applies in Gilbert.
IT support in Gilbert: what the first 90 days look like
The first 90 days run in three stretches. Onboarding usually takes two to three weeks, with no day where your team is without support.
-
01
The first two to three weeks
Most offices are fully onboarded in this window. We scope the environment on a call, write down every workstation, server, firewall, license, and vendor login, run monitoring, security software, and backups beside what you have now, and then switch. Your team sees a new help desk number and not much else.
-
02
After the cutover
Once the basics are stable, cleanup starts: the Microsoft 365 licensing, single sign-on, Defender and Intune policies, and the email authentication records (SPF and DMARC) that keep real mail arriving and spoofed mail out. A complicated environment can take 30 to 60 days.
-
03
By day 90
The work becomes routine: patching, monitoring, help desk, and backup verification on a schedule, plus a review of what broke, what is aging out, and what next year needs to budget for.
What onboarding covers
- A set process for adding and removing employees
- Network fixes and improvements
- Microsoft 365 licensing cleanup
- Single sign-on
- Defender and Intune security policies
- Email: SPF and DMARC, quarantine management, legitimate senders let through, spam and phishing blocked
How to choose an IT company in Gilbert
9 questions worth putting to every IT company on your list, ours included. Ask all 9 of each and the quotes become comparable.
-
01
Ask whether the Microsoft 365 license is inside the per-user price, and which plan
Two quotes at the same headline number are not the same deal if one includes the license and the other bills it on top. Ours include it, Business Premium on the first two bundles and E5 on the third.
-
02
Ask what the monthly minimum is
For a small Gilbert office the floor matters more than the per-user rate. Ours is $1,400 a month, and the entry bundle clears it at 9 people. Ask any provider for theirs in writing.
-
03
Ask what the response commitment measures
A response time can mean a first human reply, an engineer starting work, or a resolution. Ours is a 15-minute standard response on critical issues at any hour, measured as a real person replying.
-
04
Ask where the engineers are and how long the drive to your address is
A provider can be excellent and still be an hour from your suite at rush hour. Ask for a realistic drive time. Ours is the honest version in the section above.
-
05
Ask what is not in the monthly price
Get exclusions in writing: onboarding fees, per-device billing, per-person onboarding and offboarding charges, hardware, and projects such as a cloud migration. Ours includes server and network management, and projects are quoted per engagement.
-
06
Ask when the last test restore was, and to see the result
Backup software reporting success is not the same as a restore that worked. Ask what was restored most recently and how long a full recovery took.
-
07
Ask who owns your Microsoft 365 tenant, your domain, and your documentation
You want the answer to be you, in writing, before you sign. With us, all three are yours.
-
08
Ask what the one-time onboarding fee is, and what it pays for
Ask whether it covers the audit, the documentation, the migration, or all three. We scope and quote ours per engagement. An all-new setup may have no onboarding fee, and discovery and cleanup work costs more.
-
09
Ask for the onboarding plan in weeks, with what happens in each
The risky part is the cutover day, so ask what gets documented first. Most of our clients are fully onboarded within two to three weeks.
Already shortlisting? Two guides go with this list: how to switch IT providers for the order the handover should happen in, and in-house versus managed IT if hiring someone is still an option on the table.

Frequently asked questions
What Gilbert owners and office managers ask before they pick a provider.
How much do managed IT services cost for a Gilbert business?
Pricing is posted, so you can run the numbers yourself. Take 12 people on Ridgeline at $241 each: $2,892 a month, and it stays $2,892 if a few of them sit in a second suite in Chandler, because the per-user math does not count addresses. The other two bundles are $166 per user for essential IT and $271 for the full stack. All three include the Microsoft 365 license, the monthly floor is $1,400, and a written quote follows a 30-minute scoping call.
Is Gilbert too far from your Phoenix office for IT support?
No, but it is a drive, and we would rather say so than draw a service-area circle that hides it. Our office is in Phoenix on Central Avenue. Most tickets from Gilbert are solved remotely, which is faster for the person waiting. When something needs hands, an engineer drives out, and each plan includes monthly on-site visits.
What is the difference between outsourced IT in Gilbert and hiring one IT person?
One hire covers one set of skills, takes vacation, and eventually leaves. A managed plan gives you a help desk, monitoring, patching, and backup verification that do not depend on one calendar. The tradeoff is that your provider is not in the building every day.
How small can a Gilbert company be and still use managed IT?
Headcount is not the limit, the monthly floor is. On the entry bundle, anything under 9 people pays a flat $1,400. At 5 people the per-user rate would come to $830, so the floor applies and each person effectively costs $280. From 9 people up, you pay the per-user rate.
Can you support a Gilbert business with a second office in Chandler or Mesa?
Yes. Chandler and Mesa sit next to Gilbert, and Queen Creek and Tempe are in range too. One agreement covers every location, and an engineer already in the East Valley can reach the next one without a trip back to Phoenix.
What should a Gilbert company ask an IT company before signing?
Start with the license, the monthly minimum, what the response time measures, and what is billed separately. The checklist on this page has 9 questions in that shape.
Do you only work with dental and medical offices in Gilbert?
No. We support professional services firms, contractors, nonprofits, distributors, and retail operations with no compliance obligation at all, and healthcare offices get HIPAA-aware IT. Dental has its own page with the clinical software details.
