Microsoft's cloud platform for hosting servers, applications, databases, and infrastructure services.

Azure is where workloads run that do not fit into Microsoft 365: line-of-business servers, databases, virtual desktops, and custom applications. Billing is consumption-based rather than per-seat.

Cost control is the recurring discipline. Resources are easy to create and easy to forget, and an unattended environment tends to grow a monthly bill nobody can fully explain.
