Purview is where you decide what counts as sensitive data, mark it, control where it can go, decide how long it is kept, and produce evidence for auditors and legal requests.
Its capabilities are split across licensing tiers, and several of the most useful ones sit behind the Purview Suite. Attempting a compliance program without checking the licensing first is a common source of stalled projects.
