A numeric measure of your Microsoft 365 security configuration against Microsoft's recommended settings.
It is a useful checklist and a poor target. The recommendations are sound in general, and the score gives a defensible starting order for hardening work in a tenant nobody has reviewed.
Chasing the number leads to enabling controls that do not fit the business, and a high score says nothing about whether anyone is monitoring alerts or whether backups restore.
